Nursing Course Levels & Objectives
Nursing courses are numbered by year and sequenced by level. All nursing courses within a given level must be successfully completed before a student may enroll in a course at a higher level unless granted approval by the course instructor.
Program Objectives:

Level I Objectives
Are met through the successful completion of the required general education/prerequisite courses required by the College for admission.
Level II Objectives
Level Objective 1: Critical Thinking/Clinical Reasoning
Apply knowledge from general education and nursing theories to the adaptive responses of individuals incorporating the results of nursing research to nursing practice.
Level Objective 2: Basic Organization and Systems Leadership Quality Care
Recognize nursing leadership roles in the provision and coordination of healthcare as a direct care provider, teacher, and communicator.
Level Objective 3: Nursing Process
Use the nursing process to assess, plan appropriately, safely implement and evaluate nursing interventions for individuals.
Level Objective 4: Values
Identify professional values with ethical, moral, and legal aspects of nursing into nursing practice
Level Objective 5: Caring
Practice caring through behaviors which reflect respect, empathy, & genuineness in providing care to individuals in order to promote an optimal health.
Level Objective 6: Communication & Technology
Develop communication skills to collaborate in finding solutions to problems and meeting health care needs of the individuals.
Level Objective 7: Adaptability
Demonstrate nursing actions which are appropriate to an individual’s health status.
Level III Objectives
Level Objective 1: Critical Thinking/Clinical Reasoning
Apply theoretical and empirical knowledge from nursing scientific and humanistic disciplines to the adaptive responses of people, families, groups, communities & society for optimal nursing practice.
Level Objective 2: Basic Organization and Systems Leadership Quality Care
Practice nursing leadership roles in the provision and coordination of healthcare as a direct care provider, teacher, and communicator.
Level Objective 3: Nursing Process
Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan appropriately, safely implement and evaluate nursing interventions for individuals.
Level Objective 4: Values
Demonstrate professional values with ethical, moral, and legal aspects of nursing into nursing practice
Level Objective 5: Caring

Level IV Objectives

Discriminate theoretical and empirical knowledge from nursing scientific and humanistic disciplines to the adaptive responses of people, families, groups, communities & society for optimal nursing practice.
Level Objective 2: Basic Organization and Systems Leadership Quality Care
Determine a leadership role in the provision & coordination of health care through collaborative relationships with other health care professionals including health care policy, finance and regulatory environments.
Level Objective 3: Nursing Process
Organize the nursing process to assess, plan appropriately, safely implement and evaluate nursing interventions for individuals, families, communities and society.
Level Objective 4: Values
Employ professional values with ethical, moral, and legal aspects of nursing into nursing practice.
Level Objective 5: Caring
Incorporate caring behaviors which reflect commitment to optimal health of people, families, groups, communities and society.
Level Objective 6: Communication & Technology
Integrate communication skills to collaborate in finding solutions to problems and meeting the health needs of people, families, groups, communities and society.
Level Objective 7: Adaptability
Evaluate nursing actions with regard for actual or potential changes in health status or environment to meet health care needs of individuals, families, communities, and society.
