If you are not from the Central Illinois area the following tips may be helpful:
- Dressing in layers is always a good idea during the fall (late August through early December) and spring (late March through early June).
- A heavy coat and boots are recommended during the winter months (December through March).
- A window scaper, lock de-icer and something to give you traction (such as kitty litter) can be helpful to keep in your car during the winter months.
Inclement Weather & College Closures
The Chief Executive Officer will determine the dates and times of Lakeview College of Nursing closures. The college will be closed for the following: Labor Day, Fall Break Day, Thanksgiving - 2 days, Christmas/New Year's - 10 days, Martin Luther King's Birthday, Lincoln's Birthday, Friday of Spring Break, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Inclement Weather (as determined by the CEO).
When the College is closed for inclement weather, the Chief Executive Officer will notify the Dean. The Dean will notify faculty via phone tree. Students should first check their LCN e-mail. Additionally, closings should air on the following: WDAN/WDNL/KRHK, WITY, WHPO, WKZS, WDWS/WHMS, WAND-TV, WCIA-TV, WICD-TV, WILL FM/AM, WTWO, or WIXY/WLRW/Oldies 95/Xtra 99, "The Party" 104.3 FM and WLBH 96.9 FM.
Making Up Missed Class/Clinical Due to Inclement Weather
It will be at the discretion of course/clinical faculty to determine the need to make up missed classroom, laboratory, or clinical days.
